Altidore will turn 34 on November 6 and accepts that any move from here will have to tick several important boxes for him. He does not want to hang up his boots, but he will not be accepting the first offer that comes along either.
WHAT THEY SAID
Asked about his situation on the show, Altidore said: “I’m a free agent right now, so I’m in a bit of an unknown area. I haven’t been like this before. So I don’t know, we’ll see.”
Pressed on whether he has a preference regarding his next challenge, Altidore added: “Not really. I just think it has to make sense for me at this point in my life. A lot goes into it now, moving my family over. Before it was just me, pick up and go. So contemplating those things and making sure that hopefully I can find something that’s the right fit.”
