Chelsea were reportedly monitoring Lopez this summer as part of their midfield rebuild, with the 21-year-old catching the eye after his breakthrough season at Barcelona. Despite links to Stamford Bridge and speculation over a possible bid, Lopez has now made it clear that leaving Catalunya was never in his plans.

Speaking about the rumours, Lopez told reporters: "My priority has always been Barcelona. This club is my dream since I was a kid. It is always a compliment that there is interest from other clubs, but the truth is that I always wanted to stay and succeed at Barca."
