According to Football Insider, West Brom defender Nathan Ferguson will be revisited by Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur this summer following his failed move in the January transfer window.
What’s the word?
It’s claimed that Spurs pulled out of the race to sign the 19-year-old last month before he appeared set on an £11m move to league rivals Crystal Palace.
The Athletic revealed that an unforeseen knee injury scuppered his medical and cast doubt over the deal as they believed he required surgery that would put him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
Now Ferguson has returned to the Baggies which has put Jose Mourinho’s side on alert as the source states the north Londoners are looking to add a right-back to their ranks during the off-season.
He is still out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to cost around £4m through compensation.
Summer saga
Albion’s academy graduate is someone that manager Slaven Bilic rates highly, so much so that if he’s fit enough to feature for the rest of this campaign, then he will look to play him.
He said: “Nathan is a player I like, I gave him his chance and I admire his quality. If he is fit, it will be great to have him, of course. I don’t know the stage of his injury and all that. But if he is staying and if he is fit, then he is a member of our squad.”

This saga is only going to rumble on until he either signs a new deal at the Hawthorns – rather unlikely according to previous reports from Steve Madeley at The Athletic – or when he joins a new club this summer.
Bilic bolstered his defensive ranks on deadline day by bringing in Cardiff City full-back Lee Peltier, so there’s now plenty of competition for places, especially at right-back.
Although this season Ferguson has featured more times on the other side, playing 12 of 21 matches at left-back, per Transfermarkt.
