Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their hunt for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic after his father spoke about the youngster’s future to Sky Sports.
What’s the story?
Pulisic is considered one of the hottest young talents in world football following a series of impressive displays for club and country.
The 19-year-old broke into the Dortmund first team back in 2016 and has gone on to make 70 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring nine goals.
The USA international, who is valued at £40.5million on Transfermarkt, has been linked with Tottenham, and his father Mark has spoken out about a potential move.
He said: “The Premier League is a league where he’s always aspired to be in and play in. As a player nowadays, there are so few players staying at one club throughout a career, the chances of him moving to different clubs and leagues is a high probability.”

What does this mean?
Pulisic certainly wouldn’t come cheap and Daniel Levy isn’t known for splashing the cash to land the biggest names, preferring to invest in talent and develop it at the club.
However, the 19-year-old would fit in well under Mauricio Pochettino, able to play as a number ten or on either wing, and he would add to Spurs’ youthful and vibrant squad and would surely become a legend if he stayed with the north London club for many years.
Mark Pulisic’s comments don’t indicate a move is imminent but it shows he is thinking about the future, and if Spurs hang around they could reap the rewards when the time is right.
