Leeds United aren’t in the best of form at the moment.
In fact, that above sentence is selling things short a little bit, Leeds have been absolutely dreadful in recent weeks.
The Whites have won just once in 2019, and they have just two league victories in their previous ten games.
However, the most worrying thing about this run of form is that it’s somewhat unexplainable.

Leeds have still been the better team in the majority of their games, they created 12 more chances than Wigan two Saturday’s ago, they had more shots and more possession than both Sheffield Wednesday and QPR, but they’ve come away from all of those games with zero points.
Here’s the scary thing, it may only get worse for Leeds.
At the moment they’re not showing any signs of the famed ‘Bielsa burnout’. Graham Smyth commented that they were still full of running against Wigan, yet, they’re dropping points on a regular basis.

Leeds may be in second place, but the gap to sixth is just five points – the bridge between them and third is now nothing. Thus, if this phenomenon of the Argentine’s teams faltering towards the back-end of campaigns continues it may soon be time for Leeds to start looking over their shoulder.
It’s a worrying prospect, but it’s also a very real one.
In other news, Leeds could fix two problems with one simple switch.
