Olivier Giroud will fly to London this week to complete his transfer from Montpellier to Arsenal, The Sun report.
The Emirates Stadium outfit are keen to bolster their squad this summer to build on a third-placed finish in 2011-12, with the capture of Germany star Lukas Podolski already in the bag.
The France international is next on Arsene Wenger’s hitlist after he inspired Montpellier to a surprising Ligue 1 title win last term.
Giroud was in Les Bleus’ squad for Euro 2012 but did not get a chance to overly star, and after Laurent Blanc’s men were eliminated by Spain Wenger is keen to tie up a deal.
The forward will travel to England for a medical, and with all being well will complete a £12 million move, signing a five-year contract.
“I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal — it is something that represents so much for me. I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players,” he confessed.
Giroud scored 21 goals in 36 appearances for Montpellier last season.
