Newcastle United tried and failed to sign the centre-back last summer and now The Mirror states Liverpool are in pole position for the 24-year-old. The report adds their main rivals in the race to sign him looks to be Chelsea but there could be late interest from Manchester City, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

Guehi could be a direct replacement for Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who said in midweek that he doesn't know where he will be playing next season. The Reds will not secure the England international's signature on the cheap, despite his contract expiring in 2026.
