American hit 15 goals last seasonSpent much of his time on the right flankMay be asked to fill central playmaking roleGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
The United States international posted a personal-best on the goal front last season, with the target found on 15 occasions through 50 appearances in all competitions. An immediate impact has been made at San Siro, with Pulisic being billed as an “MVP” for Serie A heavyweights.

Most of his best work was carried out on the right flank, despite spending much of his career to date on the left, and new Milan boss Paulo Fonseca admits the 25-year-old could be moved into a central playmaking post. He has said during a tour of the US: “I don’t know if in our structure we can speak about a No. 10, but [Pulisic] can play in that position. We have other players who can play, [Ruben Loftus-Cheek] can play in that position. But yes, Christian has characteristics to play in this part of the pitch.”

Milan were delighted with Pulisic’s contribution in 2023-24, but Fonseca believes the American can take his game to even greater heights. He added: “It’s not easy for a foreigner to arrive in their first year and perform like Christian did because it’s difficult for a player like him to find space in Italy. So if he did so well in the first year, I believe he can do better in the second year.”
WHAT NEXT?
Pulisic figured off the bench for Milan in their friendly win over Premier League champions Manchester City at Yankee Stadium in New York, while rubbing shoulders with pop superstar Rihanna. More minutes will be seen in upcoming meetings with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
