Inter have identified the Manchester United striker as their priority target for the summer transfer window, according to . The Italian giants are reportedly looking to strengthen their attack after a disappointing end to the 2024-25 campaign, especially the 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final. They are exploring a loan deal with an option to buy, capitalising on Hojlund's underwhelming season in England.

Hojlund, 22, joined United from Atlanta in August 2023, but has failed to meet expectations, managing just four goals in 32 Premier League appearances in 2024-25. Despite showing promise in the Europa League – scoring six goals in the competition – but they lost the final to Tottenham and missed out on a spot in the Champions League in the upcoming season. Inter want to change their forward line after failing to win any of the three trophies they fought for. Reports say that the club have a transfer budget of €40 million (£34m/$46m) and is focusing on younger players with a lot of potential, like Hojlund.
